How To Remove Important Folder In Gmail

I have started using gmail thru Thunderbird and every incoming emailis duplicated 3 times (it will appear once in the 'Inbox' folder, once in the'Gmail/All Mail' folder and once in the 'Gmail/Important' folder). This is annoying because I have to open the same email 3 (once every copy of it)times to ensure that the notificationicon doesn't signal three unread mails. So I have to always goto the 'Gmail/All Mail' and 'Gmail/Important' folders to mark folder as read every-time I get a new mail. How can I remove the 'Gmail/All Mail' and'Gmail/Important' folders in Thunderbird(obviously without deleting the content of'Inbox')? Is this something that can be fixedfrom within Thunderbird, or do I have to changesomething on the webmail side?
How To Remove Important Folder In Gmail Email
- You can click on the yellow tag on the message header to let Gmail know that the particular email is not important. As you keep doing so Gmail will learn your ways and future emails of that sort will not be tagged important. And by the way, all emails, whether important or not will show up when you click on inbox.
- In order to show this functionality, Mail shows each Label in its own folder. When email comes into Gmail, it is Labeled with Inbox and All Mail, and any other accoutrements such as Important. When you move the message out of the Inbox in Mail, the 'Inbox' label is removed, but all the rest remain.
If you have a long list of labels in Gmail, you may want certain labels visible that you use more often while hiding the rest. Hide a Label. To hide a label in Gmail, click the label you want to hide in the list of labels under the “Compose” button and drag it to the “More” link beneath the list of visible labels.
